Study has shown that individuals ( either old or young) have some kind of stress they deal with. A teenager may undergo stress issues in dealing with school work and the hormonal changes going on within their body. A parent may encounter stress in raising an indolent child and at the same time dealing with the demands at work. And a young man or woman may be stressed out in getting their career on sail. Basically, every life’s phase have a new level of stress accompanying it.
Life most times forces situations and circumstance that may be beyond our control (at least so it may seem), but while you can’t control external circumstances, you can control and optimize your response to get the most out of the situation and still enjoy your life.
The following tips will help you better deal with stress and eventually simplify your life.
1 . Adopt good time management technique.
The most important and priceless commodity which unfortunately happens to be in limited quantity is time. Time wasted or wrongly spent can never be regained or retrieved.
Poor time management is one of the birth causes of stress. Allowing your actions to be unregulated or predetermined will leave you struggling to meet up with the daily demands of life that begs for your attention.
An effective method to better improve your time management skill is to plan your day the night before. It has been proven effective that the best practice in achieving this is by writing the plans for your day on a piece of paper. Before going to bed, write down the things and task you intend to accomplish the next day.
Avoid writing this on a journal but instead tear out a small piece of paper and outline the tasks and plans you have for the next day (do this the evening prior). The purpose of writing this down on a small piece of paper instead of a journal is to make it easily movable and possible for you to carry along with you wherever you go. When you go through the course of your day, continually check your lists to keep you reminded on the important tasks you’ve outlined.
2 . Set up work priorities
After creating your list or schedule using small movable pieces of paper from the tip mentioned above, the next order of business in better dealing with stress is to group your work in order of priority in attempt to yield the most fulfilling outcome from the least possible amount of effort.
This is otherwise known as optimizing productivity. Most people believe the more tasks or work you complete, the more productive you are. But this isn’t at all true. Doing a lot of work and engaging in a lot of task will ultimately render you very busy. Busyness doesn’t equate productivity. As a matter of fact, it fuels your stress levels.
The objective of prioritizing your work and optimizing productivity is to make you engage In those work/tasks that yield the most benefits, results and self-satisfaction.
While you may have dozens of work that demands your attention, select the most relevant ones that yields the most benefits and discard everything else.
3 . Avoid multitasking :
Your brain wasn’t designed to function in stress. Doing multiple stuff at same time would leave you worn out and frustrated.
Have you ever felt as you get older, time seems to kind of just move faster? Well If you have, that’s a phenomenon created by series of repetitive multitasking- The act of doing multiple work in regular patterns. You have to break out from that cycle and adopt a sense of mindfulness.
Take your task a step at a time, focus on one goal at a time. Do not try to rush up everything and miss out on the most important thing, which is actually living!

4 . Practice mindfulness; avoid overthinking
Stress occur not just as a result of external conditions, but also from influences coming from inside the body.
It’s been proven that mind controls matter, therefore, the way we think, what we think and how we think have a pre-eminent influence on health, which also influences stress.

Worrying should be highly avoided as it poses more harm than good. Learn to practice meditation as this would improve your consciousness and activate your brain to function in its optimum level.
Pick a time and place where you can “escape” to and have solo moments with yourself. Take out 5-15mins and practice long and deep breathing exercise. While the aim isn’t to get 10hours of sleep due to the fact that a good sleep isn’t measured by quantity but quality, It is important you sent the right internal body condition needed for a good sleep.
